Friendship Poems

Enduring Friendships

by Moses L. Hochstetler

I met a friend when I was young
It was an uneventful day
Our days were spent with mundane work
The nights we spent at play

A bond was formed between us
That time will never part
With a friendship that's enduring
And reaches to the heart

I've felt his pain and known his joy
The same as he's known mine
Our hopes and dreams have come and gone
How fast did pass the time

For years we went our separate ways
And visits fell behind
But not in spirit nor in thought
We've always shared our mind

I wish my friend to always know
How much it means to me
That I consider him a friend
As close as family
