The Gift [of Life]

The gift of life we are given
Doesn't really last that long
To give us such a lovely gift
And to take it back, seems wrong

Could it be because throughout
Our lives it takes so long to learn
That the way we get a second gift
Is to know it must be earned

For every life that is happy
There is also one that's sad
And for all the loving people
There are those who are only mad

We should live a life of sharing
And one that's full of love
And then when time is ending
We can look to God above

A place taht's so much better
Is the gift if you just believe
For without His solemn promise
Who would ever want to leave?
