A Poems for Mothers

My Special Mother

by Vivien Wade

My mother to me is very special,
She tucks me into bed each night,
Then reads to me a bible story,
Before switching off the light

Sometimes she creeps back in,
And kisses me upon the head,
Thinks I'm asleep, and not knowing,
While safely tucked up into bed.

When I wake up each morning,
Before breakfast we say a prayer;
I thank God for my special mother,
For her kindness and loving care.

Knowing I have the best mother,
I'm so pleased that she chose me,
I grew into her heart, not under it,
Because I am adopted, you see!
