Forever Eighteen

by William A Predeau

The years may come and the years may go
But many things still stay the same
Just like the beautiful young woman
Whom I chose to share my name

Each year we grow a little older
And our eyesight may not be as keen
But when I look at my lovely wife
She is always forever 18

I look forward to many more birthdays
With my best friend, my lover, my wife
And I thank God he brought us together
And made me happy for the rest of my life

As we continue to grow old together
And share what life has to bring
We’ll get slower, grayer with more wrinkles, but
You're always forever eighteen
