Untold Riches

by Ellen Bailey

I strived for riches and worldly gains
I pursued my goals with unabated shame
I wanted wealth and a famous name
I didn't need anyone; that was my game

I got what I was after and lost it all
I watched while others rejoiced in my fall
I had no riches and friends did not call
I was alone with my back against the wall

But Jesus found me and cleansed my soul
He forgave me my sins and made me whole
He loved and nourished me as a mare it's foal
I now have many friends and riches untold
