Promises of Pleasure

by Ellen Bailey

Satan promises you the pleasures of this world
If you forgo Heaven and give him a whirl
But his promises are just grand illusions
To draw you into his seductive delusions

He will rummage through the ruins of your mind
Until his evil ways and you become entwined
He will exploit the weaknesses in your heart
Prying you and God further and further apart

He never wants anything good to happen to you
So don't let him play you for a ninny or a fool
Reject his wickedness and sent him on his way
Let him search for another upon which to prey
