Crying In The Wilderness

by Ellen Bailey

*
I was alone, crying in the wilderness
My troubles were many and my burdens were no less
I was bent with sorrow and a broken heart
I felt encased in the surrounding dark

I was alone, crying in the wilderness
With no one but me, standing in the stillness
Then a voice within said to me,
"All you have to do is believe."

I was alone, crying in the wilderness
But Jesus was there, waiting for my willingness
I knocked and He opened the door
Now I don't cry in the wilderness anymore
